Our Story

In 2020, this mother and daughter duo, originally hailing from the vibrant state of Texas, embarked on a trans-formative journey that would change our lives forever. Seeking fresh opportunities and a new environment, we made the bold decision to relocate to Illinois.

With a long-standing love for helping animals, we quickly immersed ourselves in local rescue efforts. We opened our hearts and home to countless pets in need, fostering and re-homing many furry companions. Each success story brought us incredible joy, yet our desire to do more for animals only continued to grow. We realized while fostering was fulfilling, we wanted to create a sustainable way to support animal welfare on a larger scale.

In 2024, after much thought and consideration, we decided to channel our skills, experiences, and passions into a new venture that would allow us to make an even greater difference. Drawing inspiration from our family’s affectionate connection to the term “poochy,” we found it to be the perfect name for our animal-focused business. The name resonated with warmth and love, embodying the essence of our mission.

Poochy was born out of a commitment to provide top-quality nourishment for your pets, ensuring that every furry friend receives the best possible care and nutrition. But our mission extends beyond just providing nourishment. We recognize the pressing need to support animals in shelters and rescues, many of whom are still waiting for their forever homes. With every purchase made through Poochy, a portion of the proceeds will be dedicated to local animal shelters and rescue organizations. This initiative is not only aimed to improve the lives of pets in need but we also hope to foster a sense of community and responsibility among pet owners.
